Sketching & Painting at TeassesSunday 1st March 2020 10am-4pmFor adults at any level of experience.
Join local artist, Steve Bretel, for an exciting and sociable creative learning experience. The grand aspects of Teasses Castle – set amidst glorious, extensive formal gardens and woodland – provide the perfect settings and scope for creative expression. We’ll start by freestyle sketching with graphite and charcoal to loosen up our mark making, then move on to using watercolour, and mixed media for painting. Don’t worry if you lack creative confidence – this will be supportive and fun through a mixture of demonstrations, instruction and positive feedback. Those more experienced may wish to focus on accurate observation skills, composition, perspective, tonal range, and effective use of colour. £60 for the day – all creative equipment supplied – drawing and painting materials, papers, easels and boards – but bring your own favoured things if you’d like to use them. Teas and coffees etc., will be on hand, but you’ll need to bring a packed lunch, as this is not provided.
Please come dressed appropriately for the weather conditions, as we’ll be out in the elements for periods of time. If the weather is inclement on the day, we’ll work in the newly rebuilt extensive greenhouse, with its panoramic view of the gardens and wide array of exotic plants to use as subject matter, or from gathered natural materials found nearby. Please note, this will likely be an active day with changing levels of terrain and steps to negotiate.
